Obituary

Mr. J.W. Beck, 68, of Grenada, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford. He was born January 6, 1947 in Carroll County to Coleman and Tessie Carpenter Beck. He was a farmer and cattleman and retired as Dye House Manager at Pennaco Hosiery. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and an avid outdoorsman.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 18, 2015 from the Chapel of McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Dr. Brent Barker officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday evening and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Survivors include Nancy Beck of Grenada; one daughter, Ann B. Parks (Robbie) of Grenada; one grandson, Andrew Beck Parks (Jessica) of Grenada; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Perry Parks of Grenada; two sisters, Polly Montgomery of Vaiden and Peggy Holloway of Grenada; two brothers, Charles Beck and Jimmy D. Beck, both of Grenada; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Doris Lott, Aileen Allison, Ruby Fay Pierce and Joy Dean Simmons; and a brother, James Beck.
Pallbearers will be Art Blake, Cannon Kirk, Joe Walker, Clay Wilson, Kyle Wilson and Toby Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Beck, Chris Beck, Danny Beck, Ray Beck, Joseph Salley and Wayne Stark.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Music Ministry of Emmanuel Baptist Church or the American Heart Association.
