she continued paying it forward the rest of her life to all who were privileged to know her.
Lillie Kathleen "Kathy" Gibson of Gore Springs was born November 2, 1961, in Clarksdale, MS. Kathy was raised in a loving, Christian, country home by parents who chose her and gave her the most rich and loving childhood imaginable. Based on their choice to adopt her and love her, she continued paying it forward the rest of her life to all who were privileged to know her. Kathy was a Registered Nurse who got the opportunity to show love and care and kindness to others, especially the sweetest children of Grenada Lower Elementary. She was an amazing and loyal, precious woman of God who was always there for those who needed her. Never judgmental or passing a harsh word, she poured love into others and adopted them into her family.
Kathy was married for 29 years to her loving and supportive husband Mike Gibson. Together, they created Kathy's pride and joy, Emma Kate. Emma and her husband, Dalton Coleman, gave her 3 beautiful and cherished grandsons - Jesse Everett, John-Micheal, and Jase Cooper.
She was also blessed with 5 bonus children who she loved and poured into and treated like her very own...Chrystee (Jeff) Hamilton, Ron (Regan) Gibson, Hillary Thompson, Ashley (Parker) McQuary , and Joseph Gibson. And lots of grandchildren...Trystan Hamilton, Laury Beth (Micheal) Lamb, Scott (Dallyn) Hamilton, Landon, Emma, Laura, Eli, Anna, Kate, Seth and Sydney (Gibson last 8 of them, Ron was busy!), Harley Gibson and Blaise Gibson. And one great-granddaughter, Hollyn Lamb. Though raised an only child, her sisters Genie Barnes, Angela Breland, and Betty Jean Burton have many precious and cherished memories with Kathy and their love and support has always been truly special. Her friends and family will miss her presence and cherish the time we were blessed to have with our dearest Kathy.
Kathy left her earthly home on September 11, 2026, at age 64. But, we are comforted in knowing that she received a grand welcome in heaven by her precious and loving parents, J.C. and Jimmie Dee Simon.
Kathy was a Registered Nurse who got the opportunity to show love and care and kindness to others, especially the sweetest children of Grenada Lower Elementary.
