Mrs. Kay Veasey Marter, 82, of Duck Hill, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025 at her residence.  She was born September 16, 1942 in Hattiesburg to Grady Cortez and Annie Kathryn Massey Veasey.  Kay was a secretary at Cliff Colbert Chevrolet for over 20 years.  She was also a member of Duck Hill Baptist Church.  Kay enjoyed attending auctions and antiquing at every opportunity.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 20, 2025 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada.  Interment will follow in the Duck Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time Monday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include daughters, Sheryl Abel Butler of Germantown, TN, Cynthia Rogers of Big Creek and Deborah Clay of Atoka, TN; sons, Gerald Abel of Murfreesboro, TN, Randy Marter of Charleston, and Bill Abel of Grenada; five grandchildren, Eli Butler, Victoria Butler, Lori Mitchell, Haley Mitchell & Johnny Marter and three great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Marter, son, Terry Dwayne Abel and brother, Larry Veasey.
