Mrs. Lorna Kathryn "Kit" Schmitz, 86, of Carrollton, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.  She was born July 10, 1938 in Hamdon, NY to Burton and Kathryn Fueglein Becker.  Kit spent most of her working life as a Licensed Practical Nurse and was a member of Christ Community Church.  She also honorably served in the United States Air Force.  She will long be remembered as an excellent mother and housewife.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Christ Community Church in Grenada.

Survivors include her husband, L.G. Schmitz; three sons, Burton Schmitz(Suzanne) of Jefferson, James Schmitz of North Carolina and Thomas Schmitz(Mami) of Tokyo, Japan; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings and a son, Edwin Schmitz.
