Obituary

Mrs. LaRisa Muriel Ward Campbell, 70, of Grenada, passed away Friday, November 1, 2024 at the AMG Specialty Hospital in Batesville.  She was born October 28, 1954 in Grenada to Travis "Dude" and Gladys Muriel Goodson Ward.  LaRisa worked for many years at Pennaco Hosiery in Grenada and following its closure, joined the staff of the North Central Planning and Development District as a Social Worker.  She and her late husband, Barry, were faithful and devoted members of the Grenada Church of God.  Camping, sewing and traveling were among her favorite hobbies.  She was a wonderful cook and loved to serve delicious meals to her family and other loved ones.  LaRisa loved a good card game and was always ready for a game of Rook.  She will long be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at the Grenada Church of God with Pastor James McElroy officiating.  Interment will follow in the Ward Family Cemetery west of Bruce.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Monday evening at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the Grenada Church of God.

Survivors include one daughter, Lakela Lancaster(Mark) of Grenada; son, Wayne Anthony of Grenada; brother, Jimmy Ward(Denise) of Bruce; seven grandchildren, Tristan Anthony(Kailey), Maggie Lancaster, Peyton Estes(Lana), Madelyn Anthony, Caleb Estes(Jade), Nate Newton and Libbie Grace Anthony; and two great-grandchildren, Levi Anthony and Stetson Estes.

LaRisa is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Barry Campbell and three brothers, Perry, Mike and Murray Ward.

Tristan Anthony, Caleb Estes, Peyton Estes, Nathan Newton, Benji Tindall and Doug Ward will honor LaRisa by serving as pallbearers and carry her to rest in the Ward Family Cemetery.
