Mr. Larry Grantham, 74, of Cascilla, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford. Larry was born January 10, 1949 in Vaiden to Casey Leo and Edna Earl King Grantham. Larry honorably served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam Era on the DMZ in South Korea and continued his service in the Army Reserves. He spent most of his working life as a plumber and electrician and made many friends and acquaintances through his work. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, playing the guitar and cooking delicious meals for his family. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Stonefield Church of God.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the Stonefield Church of God at Cascilla with Bishop A.D. Gammill, Rev. Mark Moore and Rev. Brian Stockton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the hour of the service Thursday at the Stonefield Church of God.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Marilyn Scallion Grantham; three daughters, Natisha Ann Grantham Frazier(Paul) of Holcomb, Mandy Grantham Stockton(Brian) of Starkville and Kasey Grantham Williams(Nick) of Charleston; one sister, Diane Gammill(A.D.) of Columbia; brother, Ricky Grantham(Debbie) of Holcomb; nine grandchildren, Hannah Franklin, Kristen Salley(Joseph), Haley Frazier(Jeremy), Travis Frazier, Caleb Stockton, Lillian Stockton, Sophia Stockton, Joel Williams(Celeste) and Molly Williams and one great-grandchild, his little buddy, Jaxson Franklin.
Larry is predeceased by his parents; three sisters, Betty Smith, Rosemary Vaughn and Tammy Tillman and two brothers, Don and Tommy Grantham.
Travis Frazier, William Gammill, Barry Rounsaville, Joseph Salley, Caleb Stockton and Joel Williams will honor Larry by serving as pallbearers and carry him to rest in the Stonefield Cemetery. Billy Joe Allbritton, Charles Garrard, Johnny Scallion and Kenneth "Stick" Stokes will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Memorials may be directed to the Stonefield Cemetery Fund.
