Mr. Larry Moore Hunter, 79, of Grenada, passed away Friday, July 10, 2026 at The Magnolia at Oxford Commons in Oxford. He was born June 27, 1947 in Mantee to Billy Moore Hunter and Jessie Faye Crowley Hunter. Larry was a 1965 graduate of Eupora High School and earned a degree in Business Administration from Mississippi State University.

Larry built a highly distinguished and successful career in the pharmaceutical industry, culminating in his retirement as the Vice-President of Retail Sales with AmerisourceBergen. His professional dedication led to relocations across various states, opening doors to grand adventures and unforgettable experiences for his family along the way. His professional life was defined by the same principles he carried into every area of his life: integrity, leadership, and an unrelenting work ethic.

Larry lived by a simple mantra of “hard work and clean living,” rooted deeply in his strong and devout faith in God. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church, and his family takes immense comfort in knowing that his salvation is an absolute certainty, as he lived his life as a true testament to his Christian beliefs.

An avid outdoorsman, Larry was deeply passionate about bass fishing (owning 8 Ranger bass boats during his lifetime) and looked forward to every single excursion on the water. For Larry, fishing was far more than a hobby; it was a sanctuary where lifelong bonds were forged. The hours spent casting lines on peaceful waters brought a profound sense of camaraderie, rich conversations, and deep friendships. Whether sharing quiet reflections at dawn or trading stories over a prized catch, the meaningful connections made during those days on the water became some of his most treasured memories.

A man of exceptional character, Larry was defined by an innate kindness and a profound gentleness that left a lasting mark on everyone he met. This spirit of gentleness was most brightly reflected in his deep devotion to his family. He anchored his home with patience, unconditional love, and quiet strength, and he was immensely proud of his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 13, 2026 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Dr. Joey Faulk officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Mantee. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Monday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Rebecca Conway Hunter; daughters, Amanda Hunter Brown(Riley) of Mantee and Lora Elizabeth Hunter(Channelle) of Oxford; son, Gregg Hunter of Eupora; sister, Peggy Nutt(Danny) of Vienna, GA; nine grandchildren, CharLeigh Hunter, Breanna Hunter, Alana Stauder(Jaren), Kice Brown(Tatum), Hunter Cate Ginn(Jacob), Gabe Brown, Briggs Brown, Shepard Hunter and Evie Hunter; and two great-grandchildren, Wilson Brown and Dottie Ginn.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter-in-law, Robin Hunter.

Briggs Brown, Gabe Brown, Kice Brown, Jacob Ginn, Jack Griffin, Jr. and Jaren Stauder will honor Larry by serving as pallbearers. Jason Abbott, Henry Brister, David Conway, Gerald Conway and Eddie Wilson will serve as honorary pallbearers.
