Mr. Larry Woods, 82, of Grenada, passed away peacefully Monday, June 19 at home surrounded by his family. Larry was born January 16, 1941 in Alva, MS to Robert (Bob) and Lura Bell Few Woods.
Larry was a member of First Baptist Church and honorably served our country in the Army National Guard. He enjoyed a successful career as broker and owner of Larry Woods Real Estate, Inc. during the 1970's & 1980's. Larry later changed careers and was employed in various positions in the automotive industry.
Larry Woods was a man of integrity who loved God and loved his family and friends. Our lives have forever been changed for the better for having known and loved him; his legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends and the testimony of his faith inspires us to press on in Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 23 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Grenada with Dr. John Boler officiating. Interment will follow in the Embry Cemetery in Webster County. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time at First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Woods; son, Michael Woods (Charee) of Grenada; daughter, Jessica Ramsay (Jon) of Madison; brother, Billy Woods (Martha) of Grenada; brother, Joe Woods of Grenada; seven grandchildren, Regan Woods, Carmen Woods, Laynee Liberto (Paul), Aubree Woods, Rhett Ramsay, Eva Catherine Ramsay, and Clayton Woods Ramsay.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Alma Clanton; and sister-in-law, Yvonne Woods.
Terry Barton, Roger Goodson, Gene Grass, Rodney Harrell, Ben Naron and Wayne Smith will honor Larry as pallbearers; Sherman Barnette, Archie England, Robert Rose and Heath Self will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Dr. Joe Messina for the many years of superior health care extended to Larry and the staff of Adoration Hospice for their compassionate care and comprehensive support at life's end.
