Obituary

Laura Lucille Sigler Isaacs, 76, recently of Grenada, MS was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 17, 2019. Laura was born in Pickering, LA on September 9, 1942 to V.J. "Pete" and Myrtle (Wilson) Sigler. Before retiring to Grenada, Laura was a long-time resident of Gulfport, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Wilbur Isaacs; parents; four brothers, Wayne Sigler, Bruce Sigler, Glen "Bell" Sigler, and "Will" Sigler; one sister, Leta Sigler-Bradshaw; and two great granddaughters, Laura Cameron and Elise Hayden. She is survived by her seven children: two sons, Richard (Peggy) Litsey of McHenry, MS and George Scott of Weatherford, OK; five daughters, Cynthia (Ronald) Davenport of Tillatoba, MS, Leshia (Mike) Keeton of Hinton, OK, Lucretia Isaacs, Keigh (MJ) Juarez, and Lea Cooley- (Chris) Gaskey of Gulfport, MS; 24 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family; and special sister-in-law, Ms. Glen "Mary" Sigler. Also, the many new friends and extended Davenport family that came to know and love her during her time in Tillatoba, MS. For many years, Laura worked in the construction industry owning and operating her own painting company. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a fun loving, humorous woman who enjoyed life. Nothing made her happier than being outdoors caring for her plants and playing with her cats. Her hobbies included quilting, crocheting, antiquing and going fishing on a beautiful day. She was a beautiful soul who will forever be sadly missed by all of her family and friends. At times ornery and headstrong, Laura liked doing things her way. Thus, in keeping with her wishes there will be no funeral service, memorial, nor burial in a lonely forgotten cemetery. Remember her as you knew and loved her and seek comfort in the knowledge that she is now with those she has been missing for so long. The family would like to give a special thanks to her nurses and staff at Grenada Living Center in Grenada, MS. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Laura's memory to Syble's Babies for Alzheimer's. (Contact information: missy.taylor73@gmail.com, 662-417-2728, https://missytaylor073.wixsite.com/syblesdolltherapy or Facebook.) Syble's is an outreach program that provides therapy baby dolls to Alzheimer's patients. Ensuring the continuance of this program would be beneficial to many other patients. This program was a God send for us as Mom's disease progressed.

A private memorial service was held March 19, 2019 for children and grandchildren.
