Mr. Leland Howard "Lee" Jones, III, 70, of Carrollton, passed away Friday, March 28, 2025 at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona.  He was born October 13, 1954 in Greenwood to Leland Howard Jones, Jr. and Peggy Riales Jones.  Lee graduated from Greenwood High School in 1972 and later earned his undergraduate and Juris Doctorate degrees from the University of Mississippi.  Lee practiced law in Greenwood for over 20 years and also served as board attorney for the Carroll County Board of Supervisors and the Town of North Carrollton.  Following his retirement from his law practice, he co-owned and operated with his daughter Jenifer Delta Feed, The Western Store, and Big Sand Feed and Seed. He was also involved in the commercial trucking business.  A cattle farmer since 1993, Lee found solace in being on the farm and tending to his cattle.  Lee found great pleasure in spreading Christmas cheer each year by portraying Santa Claus at local nursing homes and other public events.  He was a member of Carrollton Methodist Church.

The family will hold a private memorial service.

Survivors include his wife of over 45 years, Beryl Brewerton Jones; daughter, Jenifer Jones Houston (Lee) of Carrollton; son, Leland Howard Jones, IV (Laura) of Chevy Chase, MD; sister, Lori Jones Irvin of Hamilton; brother, Matt Jones (Nina) of Oxford; uncle, Tommy Rayburn of Little Rock, AR; and his four beloved grandchildren, Jenilee Houston, Emily Houston, Tate Jones and Mercer Jones.

Lee is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, David Riales Jones; and Aunt Barbara Rayburn.
