Obituary

Mr. Lee Andrew King passed from this world to be with his Father in Heaven on October 7, 2019 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center – Grenada. Mr. King was born to Lee King and Betty Minyard King on April 17, 1928, in Oklahoma City, OK. Lee graduated from Grenada High School in 1946 and worked as a knitter at Grenada Hosiery until he started his own heating and air conditioning business which is still in operation today.

Lee was married to the former Betty Jane Juchheim for 66 years. They were blessed with 6 children, Ron King of Tullahoma, TN, Don King(Ruby) of Peta Luma, CA, Ginny King Sutherland(Joe) of Duck Hill, Richard King(Cindy) of Grenada, Gaylan King Ryals(Billy)of Winona, Frank King(Patricia) of Collierville. Lee was blessed with 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren whom he cherished with all the power he had in him. They too cherished their moments with their Pops as well.

One of his grandsons has already written a letter to God on his behalf. A portion of it goes as follows: Lord, bless us in these times of heartache. You took our Pops today. Please accept this advice and prayer to you. He's not as tough as he seems. He is really a big Teddy Bear. He loves unconditionally and asks a lot of questions. He will even question your answers, but rest assured he loves you too. I would love the opportunity to have one more conversation with Pops, but I understand I will have to wait. Please watch over and take care of him as he has watched over and loved us. Amen.

Lee was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Minyard King Miller, father, Lee King and granddaughter, Jessica King.

Lee served two terms on the Grenada City Council and was a member of First Baptist Church of Grenada. He enjoyed talking to people and you always knew where he stood on any issue. Lee will be missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Thursday, October 10, 2019 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service. Immediately following visitation, a graveside service will follow at the Woodlawn Memorial Park with Dr. Jim Nunnelee officiating and grandsons serving as pallbearers.
