Mr. Leo "Pete" Hudson, 95, of Gore Springs, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021 at his residence.  He was born Monday, March 8, 1926 in Hickory Flat to James Elmer and Mattie Zelma Hudson.  Mr. Hudson was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Gore Springs.  He possessed a strong work ethic – if he started a job, he wouldn't stop until it was completed.  He loved building things.  Mr. Hudson was a veteran and honorably served our country in the US Navy during World War II where he was awarded a Victory Ribbon and an Asiatic Pacific Ribbon.  He enjoyed a 40 year career with Delta Oil Mill in Jonestown until he retired and moved to Gore Springs.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, August 2, 2021 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. Kevin Tribble officiating.  Private burial will follow in the Providence Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time Monday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include two daughters, Frances Davis Wages of Gore Springs and Deborah Marie Bryant(Jackie) of West Point; one son, Jerry Lynn Hudson of Dry Prong, LA; four sisters, Nannie B. Holt of Ft. Myers, FL, Helen West of Como, Zelma Murriel Smith of Grenada and Linda Sowell(Harvey) of Byhalia; twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jessie Lentz Hudson; sister, Frances Elaine McCormick; and six brothers, James Eldon Hudson, Dallas Aubury Hudson, Ralph Freeman Hudson, Hubert Hudson, Herbert Hudson, William Morris Hudson and Roy Lee Hudson.
