Mrs. Linda Lunceford Gray, 80, of Oxford, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025 at the Tallahatchie General Hospital in Charleston.  She was born April 22, 1945 in Tallahatchie County to D.A. Lunceford and Ruth Burchfield Lunceford Smith.  Linda Gray dedicated her life to serving as an educator, both as a teacher and administrator.  She taught junior high mathematics in Leland, Hattiesburg, and Moorhead school districts.  She went on to serve in administration as director of the Displaced Homemakers Program at Mississippi Delta Community College, Associate Dean at the MDCC Vocational Technical Center, and Director for the Greenwood Leflore Career and Technical Center.  One of her favorite projects was working to bring the NASA Space Initiative to the Mississippi Delta.

Linda loved her family and enjoyed flower gardening, reading, birdwatching, softball, NY Yankees, and decorating the home for the holidays.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. Alex Crosby officiating.  Interment will follow in the Holcomb Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Wednesday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include her daughter, Anne Gray of Lincoln, NE; son, Buddy Gray of Oxford; two granddaughters, Jordan Gray Podlin(Josh) and Emily Brook Gray both of Houston, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James "Wooky" Gray and a brother, Dale Lunceford.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Keith Bender, Kelly Causey, Ken Causey, Scott Higginbotham, Jim McMurtray, Terry Moore, Josh Podlin, Jim Southward, Woody Spencer, Jeff Tatum, Matthew Umphlett and Will Umphlett.
