Elissa (Lisa) Boyle Long, 59, of Gore Springs passed away November 2, 2022 at her home. She was born October 11, 1963 in Coffeeville, MS. to Elisha O. (E. O.) and Eleanor Fly Boyle. Lisa was a member of Gore Springs Baptist Church. Lisa graduated from Coffeeville High School and attended Northwest Community College. After college she worked for Willis Engineering for ten years and finished her career employed by the Mississippi Department of Transportation.
She was an avid outdoorsman, she loved to hunt and fish. Her most precious memories were hunting and fishing with her daddy in his last years. Lisa enjoyed canning and cooking. She and her mother canned anything grown in the garden or wild and shared their recipes with everyone.
She was a very active member of Gore Springs Hunting Club where she served as secretary for many years. Lisa also served as secretary for Grenada Lake Fox Hunters Assn. and the Southern State Fox Hunters Assn.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 6, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Providence Baptist Church with interment in the Gore Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 PM at McKibben & Guinn Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service at Providence Baptist Church on Sunday.
Lisa will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Roger Dale Long, whom she married on July 4, 1981, one daughter Audra Allen(Jack) of Winterville, N.C.; three grandchildren, Mattie Kate, Molly and Evan; her mother Eleanor Boyle; brother Bryan Keith Boyle(Skeeter) and wife Amy and niece Ciara.
She was preceded in death by her father, an infant brother Tony and a half brother E. O. Boyle Jr.
Pallbearers will be James Baker, James Boyle, Chris Graham, Darren Harrison, Kevin Harrison, Johnny Renfroe, Scooter Shields and Jay Sykes. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Gore Springs Hunting Club and Fox Hunters Assn.
The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to Legacy Hospice for their exceptional love, care and support to us during this time.
