Mr. Luther Leonard Woods, 76, of Grenada, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 at his residence. He was born April 1, 1942 in Rosedale to Tommy Alexander and Willie Vivian Farmer. He retired after working for many years as a driver for Scott Petroleum and most recently worked as a carpenter. He was a devoted member of the Grenada Church of God.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at the Grenada Church of God with Rev. James McElroy and Rev. Alvin Woods officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday evening at McKibben and Guinn and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Helen Woods; two daughters, Reena Roach(Lawrence) of Hattiesburg and Cheryl Hawkins of Prattville, AL; two sons, Alvin Woods(Tracey) of Brandon and Lamar Woods of Hattiesburg; two sisters, Bertie Mae Mathis of Louisville, MS and Barbara Brunson of Grenada; two brothers, Thomas Woods of Yazoo City and Bobby Woods of Winona; eight grandchildren, Christopher Roach, Brandon Woods, Katie Roach, Burnham Hawkins, Mamie Hawkins, River Woods, Colby Woods and Radleigh Woods; and six great-grandchildren, Remington Roach, Ryder Roach, Brayleigh Reeves, Morgan Woods, Emma Woods and Chandler McGrew.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Pauline Clark, Wilma Goodwin and Virgie Taylor and two brothers, Buddy Woods and Raymond Woods.

Pallbearers will be Alex Brunson, Burnham Hawkins, Christopher Roach, Lawrence Roach, Melvin Taylor and Tony Woods. Honorary Pallbearers will be Remington Roach, Alvin Woods, Colby Woods and Lamar Woods.
