Mr. Lynn Lewis, 78, of Grenada, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022 in Brandon.  He was born March 25, 1943 in Mantee to Olie and Iola Jennings Lewis.  Lynn was raised on a farm near Mantee, MS and loved growing up in the country.  He served our country in the US Army from 1961-1964 and had several military tours to Germany where he setup military communications in the field.  During his time in the military, he met his wife, Marcy, in Corpus Christi, TX on a blind date.  He remained by her side for 59 years raising their family.   An avid outdoorsman, Lynn loved spending time outside and fishing with his grandson.  Lynn was also a dog lover and was most proud of his childhood dog, Shep, who he taught to herd cows on his family farm.  Lynn worked as a DJ at B100 in Grenada as well as WONA in Winona in the early 1980s.  He also enjoyed being a HAM Radio operator.  A devoted Christian, Lynn was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Friendship Baptist Church in Grenada with Rev. Tim McCaffrey officiating.  Interment will follow in the Crossroads Cemetery in Webster County.  Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Marcy Lewis; daughter, Breena Lewis of Pearl; son, Roger Lewis(Vickie) of Grenada; grandson, Hunter Lewis of Monroe, LA; sister, Elise Lewis Bates of Cave Creek, AZ and a brother, Clemmie Lewis of Nashville, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Olene Lewis Womack and twin grandsons, Matthew and Zachary Lewis.
