Mr. Maltraverse "Bub" Young, 83, of Grenada, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018 at his residence. He was born June 9, 1935 in Houston to Monte and Hilda Rish Young. Prior to retirement, Mr. Young owned and operated the Sonic Drive-In in Grenada which he built in 1975. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Grenada and was an avid fisherman and golfer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 26, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in Grenada with Rev. Daniel Herring and Rev. Tom Potter officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until service time Monday at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Cecile Flint Young; two sons, Glenn Young(Billie) and Rish Young(Melody), both of Grenada; step-daughter, Donna Gail Sykes of Grenada; step-son, Jay Sykes of Grenada; sister, Emily James(Bill) of Grenada; five grandchildren, Meg Young King, Anna Young, Madison Young, Kelcy Lancaster and Kristi Sykes; and two great-grandchildren, Will King and Brylee Long.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Margaret Joyce Young and a sister, Barbara Bloodworth.
