May 13, 1934 – April 30, 2024
Mr. Manly Hayward, 89, of Grenada, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at his residence. He was born May 13, 1934 in Duck Hill to Douglas and Mable Bennett Hayward. Mr. Hayward enjoyed a long, successful career as an insurance agent with the Jack Curtis Agency in Tupelo. Manly was not a man afraid of hard work, he also worked diligently on his farm tending to his cows and horses. He honorably served our country in the US Air Force and was an active and devoted member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for many years. He, along with his wife, Mary Sue, served as Sunday school Director, in the Sanctuary Choir and also held numerous committee assignments through the years.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 3, 2024 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Dr. Brent Barker, Rev. Eugene Heimbach and Rev. J. Barry Worrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Mars Hill Cemetery near Duck Hill. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time Friday at McKibben and Guinn.
Survivors include two daughters, Janet McCaulla(Brad) and Pam Hayward, both of Grenada; son, Sonny Hayward(Marilyn) of Grenada; sister, Sarah Grantham of Grenada; brothers, Larry and Buddy Hayward, both of Duck Hill; four grandchildren, Will McCaulla, Stacy Williams, Perry Anne Thimmes and Ragan Hayward; 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Sue Hayward and a brother, Howard Hayward.
Ragan Hayward, Jacob Hoop, Mike Hoop, Brad McCaulla, Brady McCaulla, Will McCaulla and John Williams will honor Mr. Hayward by serving as pallbearers and carry him to rest in the Mars Hill Cemetery.
The family wishes to express sincere appreciation Mr. Hayward's caregivers, Charlene Kincade, Ronterrica Ray and Olivia Ray for the exceptional care provided to him. Additionally, a special thanks is extended to Legacy Hospice for their dedication to Mr. Hayward and the entire family.
