Margaret was born in Memphis, TN on September 3, 1944 to Joyce Jenkins Pierce and Appleton Joseph (Bobby) Pierce. Margaret was known to most people around Grenada as "The Cake Lady". She worked at the Donut Shop alongside her brother Larry (The Donut Man).

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Grenada where she was active in Sunday School, The Silver Tones choral group, and a workout class.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Richard Drake, her parents and her brother Glenn Allen Pierce.

She is survived by her brother Larry Joe (Sissy) Pierce , her son Julian Drake, and Nathalie (Tom) Tramel, all of Grenada, MS. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Jewel (Josh) Duncan and Jennifer (Lee) Reece both of Knoxville, TN and Katy Tramel and Boe Tramel both of Grenada, MS. And two great-grandchildren: Bradley Duncan and Laney Drake of Knoxville, TN.

McKibben & Guinn Funeral Home in Grenada, MS is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday, February 17 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 at First United Methodist Church in Grenada. The family requests that any memorials be made to Grenada FUMC TV or Music Ministries.
