Mrs. Martha Shepherd Kirkwood, 93, of Grenada, passed away Monday, October 26, 2020 at Grenada Living Center.  She was born November 8, 1926 in Yalobusha County to Robert Wesley and Lillie Black Shepherd.  Mrs. Kirkwood was a longtime employee of Pennaco Hosiery and was a member of Duck Hill Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 30, 2020 at the Duck Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Sandefur(Wayne) of Thomaston, GA and Jane Spratlin of Grenada; four grandchildren, Mark Sandefur(Amy), Mike Jones(Anita), Daniel Gregg(Courtney) and Dana Downs(Will); nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Jack Jones and Robert Kirkwood; two sisters, Mary Poe and Shirley Rathell; and three brothers, Sam Shepherd, Eugene Shepherd and Warner Shepherd.
