IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Martha
Roberts
November 7, 1949 – September 22, 2025
Mrs. Martha Belle Hipp Roberts, 75, of Southaven, passed away Monday, September 22, 2025 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Memphis.
Born in Searcy, AR, in 1949, Martha grew up in Newport, AR, where she attended Newport High School. During her high school years, she proudly marched as a majorette in the Newport High School Band. Even then, she had a natural gift for friendship and a spirit that stayed bright no matter what life brought her way.
Martha married the love of her life, Danny Roberts, and together they built a beautiful life over the course of 58 years. Their marriage was a true partnership marked by devotion, laughter, and unwavering love through every season of life. They raised two daughters and created a home where family and faith were at the center of everything.
Martha wore many titles throughout her life — wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, preschool teacher, and friend — but her favorite title by far was Nonnie. Her greatest joy came from her family, especially her grandsons, who were the light of her life. Nonnie was a constant presence at every ball game, school program, birthday, graduation, and grandparents day. She traveled countless miles to cheer from the stands, and her absence there will be deeply felt by all who knew her.
As a mother, Martha poured her boundless energy and love into raising her two daughters. She attended every sporting event, dance recital, pageant, and school function. Her infamous Suburban was rarely without a full carload of kids. She was a room mom, cheer mom, sports mom, and a second mom to so many of her daughters' friends. She stayed fully present, always supportive, and endlessly proud.
Martha's kindness and generosity were unmatched. She spent her life taking care of others, making sure everyone had what they needed. She had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome, important, and loved. She loved big and without condition.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Martha's first heavenly birthday. The service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Carriage Hills Baptist Church, 8352 Farmington Drive, Southaven, MS 38671. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service at the church.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Danny Roberts; beloved daughters, Angela Roberts of Southaven and Stacy Sanders(Louie) of Olive Branch; two brothers, John Hipp of Schertz, TX and Roy Lee Hipp(Lynn) of Kingsport, TN; and two grandchildren, Michael Brayden Sanders and Elijah Cade Sanders, both of Olive Branch.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, John Kirby Hipp and Geneva Belle Hipp McDonald.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Martha's memory by loving big, showing kindness to others, and never missing a chance to cheer on the people you love.
