Ms. Marti N. Henderson, 79, of Grenada, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020 at her sister's residence.  She was born February 8, 1941 in Leland to Joe B. and Zexa Mae Strickland Walton.  Marti had spent many years as owner and operator of a salvage grocery store.  She was a member of Christ Community Church.

Memorial service plans are private and will be conducted at a later date.

Survivors include her sister, Mary Beth Melton(David) of Grenada; grandson, Odie Joe Avery of Detroit, MI; two nieces, Gina Hood(Clay) of Gore Springs and Leslie Bowie of Grenada; three great nieces, Allison Hood Robinson, Jessica Hood Harrison(Austin) and Marti Beth Perez(Jerry); one great-nephew, Carson Bowie; and great-great-nephews and nieces, Jack and Liam Perez, Hadley Grace Robinson and Mary Clayton Harrison.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Kenneth Wayne Avery and Randy Joe Avery and a brother, Michael Joe Walton.
