Mr. Marvin Pennington Freeman, 81, of Holcomb, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025, at his residence. He was born February 18, 1944, in Lambert to Arthur Baird Freeman and Mary Elizabeth Pennington Freeman.

Marvin honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He possessed a remarkable work ethic and devoted countless hours to learning every facet of his trade. With determination and vision, he founded Marvin P. Freeman & Son Road Boring Service, a company that continues to operate today.

He was a faithful member of Hillside Baptist Church and loved his family with all of his heart.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. Jerry McNeer officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow in the Sparta Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time Wednesday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Lounette Freeman; three sons, Greg Freeman(Melinda) of Holcomb, Marvin Allen Freeman(Sarah) of Madison and Jamie Freeman(Jennifer) of Holcomb; two brothers, Michael Freeman(Shirley) of Fairfield Glade, TN and A.G. Freeman(Carolyn) of Richland; five grandchildren, Steven Freeman(April), Myles Freeman, Cooper Freeman, Adam Denley and Zoie Sheppard; and one great-grandchild, William Freeman,

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marie Pace and a brother, Billy Freeman.
