Mrs. Mary Nell Griffin Dabney, 89, of Hernando, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022 at her residence.  She was born July 22, 1932 in Calhoun County to James Holman and Myrtle Crowley Griffin.  Mrs. Dabney had worked in management in the hotel and convenience store business for many years prior to her retirement.  She was a faithful and devoted member of the Jackson Chapel Church.  She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother for generations to come.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the Spring Hill Cemetery near Grenada.

Survivors include a sister, Judy Gillis(Allen) of Grenada; brother, Bob Griffin(Inette) of Alabama; step-daughter, Marie Armistead of Alabama; eight grandchildren, Sandra Holliman, Matthew Meador, Wendy Hale, Rebecca Hitchens, Maggie Pugh, Benjamin Meador, Meagan Pearson and Emily Crouch and a host of great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer Dabney; sons, Thomas Wayne Meador and Michael Bratton Meador; brothers, James "Sonny" Griffin and William Earl Griffin and grandsons, Christopher Meador and Michael Meador.
