Mary Wilhelmina Daly, 76, passed away at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson, MS on December 15, 2022 after an extended illness. She resided in Grenada having lived the last 1½ years at Grenada Rehabilitation and Health Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick Rush and Elizabeth Daly, a sister, Helen Hailey and a brother John B. Daly.
Survivors include three sisters, Patricia Kelley of Nashville, TN, Dorothy Spencer (Ed) of Jackson, MS, Kathy Baker (Davis) Columbus, MS; and a brother, Bill Daly (Sharon) of Grenada – in addition to a host of nieces and nephews.

Mary was born May 24, 1946 in Louisville, KY and spent her youngest years in nearby Bardstown, KY. She moved to Grenada, MS in 1952 where she attended Lizzie Horn Elementary and graduated from John Rundle High School. She received her LPN license and served in several hospitals and nursing homes. She spent the majority of her career at Dugan Memorial Home in West Point, MS. Because she was single and had no children, she always volunteered to work on holidays so those with children could be off.

She loved to dance, having taken lessons in tap and ballet as a youth.  She also loved music and the classic movies. In addition, she spent hours patiently practicing her craft in the art of plastic canvas needlepoint. Miss Daly loved to sing in the choir and was an active communicant of St. Peters Catholic Church as long as she was able.

McKibben and Guinn Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation will be Monday, December 19 at 1:00 followed by a funeral mass at 2:00, all at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Grenada. Interment will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Grenada.
