Obituary

Mrs. Mary Sue Hayward, 86, of Grenada, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center – Grenada.  She was born July 19, 1935 in Big Creek to Willis Edward and Alma Hall Todd.  Mary Sue owned and operated The Beauty Castle in Grenada for over 40 years.  She was a charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she was active in the Sanctuary Choir and had served for over 25 years as Children's Sunday School Director.  She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  Mary Sue loved keeping busy with canvas painting, cooking and working in her flower garden.  Mary Sue lit up every room she entered with her beautiful smile and personality - she displayed the love of Christ everywhere she went.  While we grieve as she is no longer in our presence, we take comfort in knowing she held in her soul the cure to death, a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Dr. Brent Barker officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mars Hill Cemetery in Montgomery County.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time Tuesday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include her husband, Manly Hayward; one son, Sonny Hayward(Marilyn) of Grenada; two daughters, Janet Hayward McCaulla(Brad) and Pam Hayward, both of Grenada; four grandchildren, Will McCaulla, Stacy Williams, Perry Anne Thimmes and Ragan Hayward; twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be Ragan Hayward, Jacob Hoop, Brad McCaulla, Brady McCaulla, Will McCaulla and John Williams.

Memorials may be directed to Emmanuel Baptist Church or the charity of choice.
