Mrs. Mary Jane Mayberry, 84, of Grenada, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016 at her daughter's residence. She was born August 21, 1931 in Schaller, IA to Lyle and Alice Marshall McLaughlin. She served for over 30 years as the Christmas Clearing House Coordinator for United Way, a former recipient of the Volunteer of the Year award in Montgomery, AL, a member of the Garden Club and the Order of the Eastern Star. She had also served on the Board for the Therpeutic Recreation Center in Montgomery.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 2, 2016 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Rev. Eugene Heimbach officiating. Interment will be in the Alabama Heritage Memorial Garden in Montgomery, AL. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Survivors include a daughter, Jody Bell of Carrollton; one son, Joe Mayberry of Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, Jennifer Chaplin, Misty Allbritton and Leigh Ann Goodwin and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Edwin Mayberry; daughter, Cynthia Mayberry; grandson, Jason Mayberry and two sisters, Lila Arends and Jan Hibben.
Pallbearers will be Bailey Allbritton, Joey Allbritton, Andy Bell, Gene Bell, Dalton Bell, Hunter Bull, Bob DeMaine and John Paul Goodwin.
Memorials may be directed to Emmanuel Baptist Church.
