Mrs. Mary Dell Tartt Meredith, 83, of Grenada, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford.  She was born May 12, 1939 in Tallahatchie County to Lee George and Vina Scallion Tartt.  Mary Dell retired as the Personnel Director for the Environmental Protection Agency and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.  In her spare time, she enjoyed working in her yard, tending to her flowers and fishing.  Mary Dell was a devoted wife and mother and while she will be missed, we find comfort in knowing her faith is now sight and she is at home in Heaven.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 5, 2022 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service.  Interment will follow in the Smith Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday evening and one hour prior to the service Saturday all at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Robert Meredith; daughter, Tanya Meredith Cooper(Lawrence, Jr). of Grenada; son, Barry Meredith(Melissa) of Gulf Breeze, FL; two sisters, Pauline Williams of Indianola and Betty Johnston of Duck Hill; two brothers, Don Tartt and Buddy Tartt, both of Grenada; and three grandchildren, Meredith Lukers of Grenada and Casey Meredith(Lauren) and Lindsey Morehead(Joe).

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be Lawrence Cooper, Jr., Peyton Johnston, Reagan Johnston, Shane Johnston, Barry Meredith, Casey Meredith and Keith Tartt.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Tim Edwards and Bobby White.
