Mary Juanita Matthews Holliday Williams, 84, of Charleston, passed away Monday, April 26, 2016 at the Tallahatchie General Hospital Long Term Care Facility. She was born March 1, 1932 in Lake Village, AR to Claude Edward and Mary Bloom Matthews. She was a former riverboat cook and a member of Friendship Church of God.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM Thursday, April 28, 2016 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Rev. Ricky Cook officiating. Interment will follow in the Smith Cemetery at Rosebloom. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Martin (Buddy) of Charleston and Jo Ralston (Larry) of Grenada; one son, W.E. "Ernie" Holliday, Jr. (Gale) of Grenada; one brother, Joe Lee Matthews of Enid; eleven grandchildren, Chris Martin, Candace Martin, Kim Ralston, Tiger Ralston, Ernie Holliday, Brad Holliday, Brian Holliday, Laura Moorman, Chas Robertson, Kenny Martin and Marty Martin; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Ernest "Dub" Holliday and a daughter, Mary Frances "Frannye" Mitchell.
