Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Middleton Worthy, 94, of Cadaretta, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2019 at her residence. She was born January 10, 1925 in Webster County to Edwin and Lois Middleton. Mary was a devoted homemaker and a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing and sharing roses from her rose garden with friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, September 27, 2019 at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Webster County with Rev. Martin Jacks and Rev. Eddie Brock officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time Friday at the church.
Survivors include one daughter, Jane Worthy of Cadaretta; one son, Joe Worthy of Cadaretta; one sister, Doris Carver of Batesville; and two granddaughters, Olivia Worthy Goode(Taylor) of Grenada and Grace Worthy Garvey(Graham) of Brandon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, H.K. Worthy; son, William Corbett Worthy; daughter-in-law, Erin Worthy; and two brothers, W.E. "Bill" Middleton and Tom Middleton.
Pallbearers will be Reb Byrne, Russ Doolittle, Joe Hays, Kevin Middleton, Steve Middleton and Craig Pittman.
