IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maxine
Dallas
January 25, 1947 – January 24, 2021
Mrs. Maxine Dallas, 73, of Grenada, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021, one day shy of her 74 th birthday, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center – Grenada. She was born January 25, 1947 in Jackson. Maxine was a devoted homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family and playing board games. A wonderful cook, she enjoyed preparing delicious meals for her family as well as sharing food she prepared with her friends and neighbors. An animal lover, she considered her pets part of the family. Maxine had an extensive collection of chickens, roosters and butterflies and their beauty gave her much joy as they adorned her home. She loved working with her hands whether she was working in her vegetable garden or making a craft to share with a loved one. Her Christmas village brought joy every Christmas season to everyone who was blessed enough to see it. A skilled listener, she spent many hours being the voice of reason for her family and friends. While we find comfort in knowing she has finished her race, her absence will leave a hole in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the Bethel Cemetery at Oxberry with Rev. Tim McCaffrey officiating.
Survivors include her husband, Wendell Dallas; four sons, Earnest Beckwith(Donna Sue) of Grenada, Bobby Beckwith(Felicia) of Roanoke, VA, Bobby Joe Jason Lee of Grenada and Steve Dallas(Donna) of Laurel; one daughter, Kim Thatch of Gulfport; one sister, Barbara Radcliff of Cascilla; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Elizabeth Timmons Stanley; father, Mack Ray Patrick and a sister, Gloria Long.
