Mrs. Misty McDaniel Montgomery, 44, of Grenada, passed away tragically on June 7, 2025 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Lafayette County.  Born January 25, 1981 in Grenada, she was the beloved daughter of Tim and Sharon McDaniel.

A graduate of Kirk Academy, Misty went on to pursue nursing – reflecting her lifelong passion for caring for others.  She was a member of Southside Church of Christ and carried her faith deeply.  Most recently, Misty worked for Mississippi Homecare in Grenada, where she lovingly referred to herself as the "office girl" after stepping away from home health.  She adored her job and considered her co-workers a second family.

Misty was a devoted wife to Daniel Montgomery and fiercely loving mother to their three daughters – Emma, Alley and Joley – who were the center of her world.  She could often be found cheering from the stands at their ballgames and letting everyone know what was on her mind about the game.  Known for her dry and unfiltered humor, Misty had a gift for making people laugh and feel loved at the same time.  Her heart was wide open for her family, and she poured herself fully into motherhood to her three girls and her marriage to Daniel.  When there weren't any ballgames, you'd find Misty on a boat at Grenada Lake – her happy place – soaking up the sun with the people she loved the most.

She was preceded in death by her cherished grandfathers, Cecil McDaniel and Harold Jack Goodwin and Daniel's parents, Joe and Mamie Montgomery.

She is survived by her loving husband, Daniel Montgomery; her daughters, Emma, Alley and Joley; parents, Tim and Sharon McDaniel; her brother, Logan McDaniel(Brook); nephews, Brice and Braxton McDaniel; beloved grandmothers, Edna "GG" McDaniel Richardson(Steve) and Betty Goodwin; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who were more like extended family.

Misty lived a full, vibrant life – never without love.  She gave her whole heart to her family and left a lasting impact on everyone that was lucky enough to know her.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, June 23, 2025 at Friendship Baptist Church in Grenada with Bro. John Pigg, Rev. Tim McCaffrey and Bro. Ben McAnally officiating.  Interment will follow in the Grenada Memorial Garden.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time Monday at Friendship Baptist Church.

Richard Bennett, Brian Bowman, Malcom Grant, Nathan Greer, Clint Lott and Scott Nichols will honor Misty by serving as pallbearers and carry her to rest in the Grenada Memorial Garden.
