Nancy Lynn Cresswell was called to her Heavenly home yesterday, Monday,
July 11, 2022. She was a resident of Providence Assisted Living in Grenada, Mississippi. She was born May 13, 1948 in Grenada, Mississippi to E. F. "Chick" and Olene Sanford Cresswell. She graduated from Holcomb Elementary School and John Rundle High School. She pursued her higher education at Wood Junior College, Mississippi State College for Women, and Delta State University where she earned her bachelor's degree.
Although she never married or had children of her own, she had a host of nieces and nephews that she doted on. She always baked birthday cakes and sent cards and gifts. We could always tell when Nancy had visited with one of the children because there would always be lipstick on the cheek of the recipient of one of her great hugs. She lived with her Mom and Dad and cared for them until they passed away.
She was an excellent cook and hairdresser and we were the lucky beneficiaries of her talents. After she moved to Providence, she took up the hobby of adult coloring pages. She won awards at Providence for her artwork which included beautiful colors and subtle shading. She gifted family members with framed copies of her art. She was always thoughtful of extended family, keeping in touch with handwritten notes. Nancy was a member of Lakewood Independent Methodist Church.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Olene and Chick Cresswell. She is survived by her 3 brothers, Jimmy (Cindy) of Nesbit, MS, Ricky (Diane) of Hoover, AL, and Eddy (Amy) of Huntsville, AL. She also has her beloved nieces and nephews and their children.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service of Grenada. There will be a visitation on Friday, July 15 at 11 a.m. and funeral at 12 noon at McKibben and Guinn.
