Mrs. Nancy Carolyn Salley Hayward Taylor McClendon, 70, of Montgomery County, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, March 3, 2017 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service. Interment will follow in the Duck Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday evening and one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.
Carolyn was born to Carroll and Lorene (Laster) Salley on October 6, 1946. She was a member of the graduating class of Binford High in Duck Hill in 1964. She worked at South Central Bell before taking a break to raise her children then she went to work for Dr. W. A. Middleton in Winona, Mississippi. She has always loved to paint throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents Carroll & Lorenne Salley, her grandparents Homer & Ruth Laster and Charlie & Ida Salley, her second husband Cecil Taylor.
She is survived by her husband Lars "Rudy" McClendon, her children David Hayward, Cooper (Lisa) Hayward, Judith Eldridge, Elizabeth "Liz" (Daniel) Carter, Edwin (Tammie) Taylor, Kim (Jerry) Ellett, Theresa (Wayne) Procella, Glenn Rawson, Charity McClendon, Dawn (Brad) Riels, George McClendon, Scott (Kim) McClendon. Her grandchildren Jordan, Rebecca, Clayton, Stone, Harley, Amy, Ryan, Karley, Jonathan, Courtney, Jennifer, Heather, Kenneth, Aaron, Ryan, Hayleigh, Bryce, Lane, Tori, Sara, Melissa, Laura, Eugene, and Justin and 31 great grandchildren. She is survived by Dorothy (Charles) Raper, her sister, Gloria K. (James) Miller. Her nieces & nephews Jason (Donna) Miller, Nathan (Shelby) Miller, Jessie (Dylan) Miller, and Skylia Miller. She had two great nephews and six cousins. She is also survived by her first husband, Larry D. Hayward.
