Obituary

Mr. Nicholas Ryan Donegan, 27, of Grenada, passed away Monday, March 9, 2026, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born December 27, 1998, in Grenada.

Nicholas was a graduate of Tupelo High School, where he played on the lacrosse team. A well-rounded young man, he found joy in many interests throughout his life. He was a talented photographer who traveled to various parts of the country capturing images of trains and railroad memorabilia.

A true “foodie,” Nicholas was always eager to try a new restaurant or sample a recipe prepared by friends and family. He also enjoyed playing video games and cherished the camaraderie he shared with the friends he met through gaming.

While he was always happiest in the company of those he loved, Nicholas also found peace in the outdoors—especially during the cherished time he spent with his family on the beaches of Destin.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 14, 2026 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Saturday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include his mother, Erin Patridge of Grenada; father, Chris Donegan(Ursula) of Tupelo; sister, Lydie Barefoot of Grenada; brother, Lucas Donegan of Tupelo; grandparents, Bruce Abel and Ann Patridge of Grenada & Danny and Glenda (Lucy) Brewington of Tupelo; aunts, Morgan Hobson, McNeill England, Layne Bailey and Jessica Bailey; uncles, William Hobson and Sean Donegan; and a dear, special friend, Nevaeh Furman of Birmingham, AL.

Nicholas was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vicki Bloodworth, Rick Donegan and Connie Jernigan; great-grandparents, Bruce E. and Ann Patridge & Bill and Lois Owen; and an aunt, Sarah Jernigan.

Ashton Allen, Chris Bailey, Austin Coon, Lucas Donegan, Spencer Donegan, William Hobson, John Allen King, Bryce Lee and Caleb Parker will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to the wonderful team at the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s Pulmonary Department and Cystic Fibrosis Center for the exception care provided to Nicholas.
