Mr. Norris Horton Rutledge, 74, of Grenada, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Grace Health and Rehabilitation Center in Grenada. He was born April 22, 1940 in Tallahatchie County to the late Asa Howard and Blanche Taylor Rutledge. He earned an Accounting degree from Delta State University and worked as an accountant in Grenada for over 35 years. He was a member and Deacon at Emmanuel Baptist Church and was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 9, 2015 from the Chapel of McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Dr. Brent Barker officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Rutledge; two daughters, Sheila Blaylock and her husband, Marvin of Scobey and Tina Jackson and her husband, Tim of Grenada; one son, Mark "Wolfman" Rutledge and his wife, Libby of Grenada; one sister, Marion Lane of Richmond, VA; eight grandchildren, Brandy Blaylock, Candace Blaylock, Haley Blaylock, Keith "Bubba" Carson, Jr., Carley Jackson, Lauren Palmertree, Paula Tyler and Riley Tyler; and two great-grandchildren, Ayden and Aubrey Grindstaff. He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Mallory Carson.
Pallbearers will be Derrick Brown, Keith Carson, Keith "Bubba" Carson, Jr., Tim Jackson, Brandon Ross and Phillip Ross. Honorary Pallbearers will be member of the Tom Holden Sunday School Class from Emmanuel Baptist Church.
