Mr. Oliver Wendell Smart, 85, of Grenada, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2026 at his residence. He was born October 26, 1940 in Grenada to Samuel Wallace Smart and Mary Florence Hankins Smart. Mr. Smart retired as a Supervisor at McQuay/Heatcraft after 42 years. He enjoyed cutting grass, 4-wheeler riding and gardening in his spare time. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 2, 2026 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service. Interment will follow in the Grenada Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time Sunday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include three sons, Richard Smart, Steve Smart(Ronda) and Jerry Smart, all of Grenada; sister-in-law, Patsy Smart; eight grandchildren, Jackie Smart, Tiffany Blaine(Samuel), Brittany Hawkins(Hunter), Dillon Smart(Sarah), Christy Covington(Chris), Jeremy Smart(Tiffanie), Colton Smart and Kyle Smart(Brittany); and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Faye Fisk Smart; sister, Jane Pollan; and two brothers, David and Robby Smart.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Samuel Blaine, Hunter Hawkins, Colton Smart, Dillon Smart, Jeremy Smart and Kyle Smart.
