Ollie Ruth Gillis Cross, 85, of Grenada, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at her residence. She was born April 13, 1933 in Lee County to James & Mary Norris Springer. She worked as a clerk for many years at Gibsons.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Springhill cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday and one hour before the service on Saturday at McKibben & Guinn Funeral Service.
Survivors include three sons: Steve Gillis (Linda), Roger Allen Gillis (Judy) of Grenada and Donald Gillis (Sharon) of Kerrville, TX., daughter-in-law, Jan Gillis of Grenada,nine grandchildren; Marie G. Brown, Tim Gillis(Amanda), Jennifer Gillis, Amanda Ables(Earl), Dennis Busby(Jenni), Tanya Coaten(Josh), Melissa Gillis, Earl Gillis and David Gillis; 17 great grandchildren; a brother Frank Springer; a sister Jenny Vest and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands; Charles Elijah Gillis and Jessup Cross and one son James Benton Gillis "Jim".
