Mrs. Opal Edwards Lott, 94, of Holcomb, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018 at her residence. She was born August 7, 1923 in Holcomb to Frank Aubrey and Bessie Jackson Edwards. She owned and operated Pete's Grocery in Holcomb for over 37 years. She was a member of Holcomb Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and had previously been a member of Sparta United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Holcomb Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Tribble officiating. Interment will follow in the Sparta Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time Tuesday at the church.

Survivors include her daughter, Kay Darby (Richard) of Sardis; five grandchildren, Michael Lott of Holcomb, Steven Lott of Holcomb, Amy Kilgore of Holcomb, Laura Whittemore of Grenada and Bryan Nail of Grenada; nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Pete Lott; son, Larry Lott; sister, Julia Edwards and a brother, F.A. Edwards.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Bearden, Harry Lott, Jr., Rodney Mainelli, Gordon Minyard, Ronnie Nail, Donnie Payne, Robert Smith, Tommy Williams, Terry Welch, and Myron Wilson.

Memorials may be directed to the Sparta Cemetery Fund.
