Parish Glenn Portera passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Yalobusha General Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS, after experiencing a massive stroke on August 19, 2023. He was born on August 17, 1965 in Grenada, MS to Tony F. Portera, Jr. and Bonnie McPherson Barton, where he spent his entire life with the exception of a couple of short stints in LA and TN. Parish was a fun-loving, eternal optimist that loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. He was the definition of an extrovert who never met a stranger.  He was deeply committed to his friends and loved ones, as they were to him.

Parish was preceded in death by both parents. Survivors include: Son, Isaac Portera; Daughter, Amie Oliver; Sister, Laniesa Portera Moore (Coleman); Brothers, Anthony Page Portera, Jo Tindall Dimaio (Jamie); Step Mother, Joy F. Portera; Aunts Tonita Portera Vick (Jerry), Sarah Glenn Hankins (William) and Nephews, Cayson Moore, Glynn and Nicolas Dimaio and many extended family members whom he dearly loved.

In carrying out Parish's wishes, there will be a Celebration of LIFE held at The District Coffee Company in Ocean Springs, MS at a later date. The family would like to thank all of the many friends that visited and encouraged Parish throughout his courageous fight to overcome the stroke.
