Mr. Mellow Carmellow "Pete" Marascalco, 93, of Grenada, passed away Friday, July 26, 2019 at his residence. Pete was born March 31, 1926 in Grenada to Vincent and Virginia Fertitta Marascalco. A long-time Grenada merchant, Pete worked alongside his brother, Charlie, at Marascalco Dry Goods for over 50 years. He was a World War II Veteran and an active and devoted member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Pete was also an avid gardener and found great joy in his later years sharing vegetables from his garden with friends and family. Pete enjoyed keeping close tabs on the stock market, woodworking, roller skating and watching Westerns. He will be remembered as a loving son, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday, July 29, 2019 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Grenada with Father Michael Marascalco officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Sunday evening at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service. Rosary will immediately follow visitation at 7:00 PM in the Chapel at McKibben and Guinn.

Survived by eight daughters, Virginia Boone (Curlee) of Grenada; Jeanette Guillory (Warren) of Baton Rouge, LA; Cecilia Stahl (Edward) of Olive Branch; Mary McCormick (Monroe) of Grenada; Glenda Sandroni of Oxford; Anne Geiger (Keith) of Grenada; Joan Stewart of Grenada; Sandra Marascalco of Grand Rapids, MI; one son, Paul Marascalco (Rachel) of Oxford; his sister, Rose Marascalco of Grenada; his brother John S. Marascalco (Rose Marie) of Los Angeles, CA; his daughter-in-law Alice Marascalco of Grenada; twenty four grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren and another great-grandchild expected in September.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Virginia (Fertitta) Marascalco; his wife, Marie Fertitta Marascalco; his son, Vincent de Paul Marascalco; sisters, Mary Marascalco and Donie Liberto; brothers, T. Joe Marascalco, Charlie Marascalco, Sam Marascalco, and Lewis Marascalco; great grandchild Zoe Elizabeth McCormick; and a son-in-law, Stan Sandroni.

Active Pallbearers are Curlee Boone, Warren Guillory, Edward Stahl, Monroe McCormick, Keith Geiger, Samuel Stewart, Jason Guillory, Steven McCormick. Honorary Pallbearers are Randy McCormick, Anthony McCormick, Joseph Geiger, Cory Geiger, Phillip Geiger,  Christopher Sandroni, Ben Stewart, Vincent Marascalco, II, Benjamin Marascalco, and Matthew Marascalco.

Memorials may be directed to the ALS Association, Angelman's Syndrome Foundation or St. Peter's Catholic Church in Grenada.
