Peter Hamilton Reeves, 73, of Hernando, MS. passed away on May 11, 2017 after a five month battle with lung cancer. He was born on August 10, 1943 on Rockville Center, NY. to Walter and Eleanor Forger Reeves. He grew up in Madison, NJ. And attended Villanova University in Pennsylvania and graduated from Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. He was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and the Marietta Rowing team. Pete was active in his church, senior services and Rotary Club.

He was preceded in death by parents, his brother David Reeves, one step son Jim E. Garrett III and one step-grandchild Joseph M. Vogel.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years Dallygene Reeves of Hernando, four children, Norman Reeves(Wilma), Chris Reeves(Bridget), Jackie Lambert(Eric) and Krista Reeves of Louisville, KY., two step children, Mignon Backstrom(Buzz) of Owensboro, KY. and Gaye Montgomery of Hernando. He also leaves two grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, five step grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.

A private graveside service was held at Holcomb Cemetery in Holcomb, MS. with Bro. Rodney Mainelli presiding. A Memorial Service was held at Hernando United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 13, at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. David Cox presiding.
