Mrs. Janie Ruth "Polly" Kendall Grammer, 79, of Cascilla, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center – Grenada.  She was born June 19, 1943 in Cascilla to William and Vadie Melton Kendall.  Polly will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who deeply loved her family and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed cooking and loved to share her delicious meals with family and friends.  Polly had a deep sense of community and cared for and loved her friends and neighbors in the Cascilla community.  Gardening, flowers and feeding the birds were among the many things she enjoyed in her spare time.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial service plans are private.

Survivors include her husband, William R. "Spud" Grammer; two sons, James Roy Grammer of Cascilla and Carl Ray Houston of Santa Fe, NM; three grandchildren, Holly Bailey, Dustin Grammer and Cody Grammer; three great-grandchildren, Eli Bailey, Barrett Grammer and Bryson Grammer; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dennis Ray Grammer; daughter-in-law, Patricia Grammer and nine siblings.

The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to the staff of the Critical Care Unit at the University of Mississippi Medical Center – Grenada for the excellent care provided to Polly.
