Quentin Kobin Worthy, 62, of Cadaretta, MS, passed away at his home on October 12, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 24, 1956 in Eupora, MS to Quentin and Maggie Woods Worthy. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Eupora High School and Mississippi State University, where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and the Junior Varsity MSU cheerleading squad. After graduating, he began his farming career. For 38 years, he was the owner of Kobin Worthy Farms and Worthy Pest Management Inc. He was a member of the Mississippi Agriculture Consultant Association (MACA) and served as a member on the Board of
Directors for the Four County Gin.
Kobin is preceded in death by his parents Quentin Worthy and Maggie Woods Worthy. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Artman Worthy, daughter, Maggie Worthy, son, Landon Worthy, sister, Fran Pittman (Alfred), nieces, Maci Flautt (Graham), Elizabeth Byars (Klint), and nephew, Craig Pittman
(Hannah) as well as a number of great nieces and a great nephew. Furthermore, he is survived by his father and mother-in-law, Ted and Pearl Artman, sister-in-laws, Tina Love (David) and Terri Gurley (Rusty), and several nieces and nephews, as well as his lifelong friend and work colleague Patton Embry (Allison).
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on October 16, 2019 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Home (4817 Commerce Street, Grenada, MS 38901) and from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday October 17, 2019 at Philadelphia Baptist Church (Cadaretta, MS 38929) with burial following at Springhill Cemetery.
