September 30, 1961 – October 16, 2018
David Ransom Saunders, 57, passed from this life on earth, Tuesday, October 16th, 2018 while at work on the Tennessee Tombigbee waterway. Randy had come to know and love Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was one of five sons born of James D. Saunders and Lois Abel Saunders, Father of three beautiful girls and Grandfather of seven wonderful grandchildren; loved and treasured by many people.
Randy was born in Grenada, Mississippi to the late James D. Saunders and Lois Abel Saunders. Randy grew up in Greenville, MS and graduated from Greenville High School. He was an exceptional athlete and excelled at baseball. Randy found a home working on the river and loved what he did. He grew up in Greenville working on the Mississippi and found a home working on the various rivers. Randy was a quiet and private person but he loved the beach and loved the water and he cherished visiting his girls and grandchildren when off the boat. Water was a constant in his life.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents Buddy and Lois Saunders; he is survived by his three daughters Shannon Saunders (Daniel) and children Halee, Madelynn, and Bethany of Chunky, daughter Brandi Saunders and her three children Lesleigh, Mia, and Blake of Bay St. Louis, daughter Jamie Saunders and her daughter Emma of Bay St. Louis; his four brothers Jim Saunders and family of Huntsville AL, Steve Saunders (Donna) and family of Vicksburg, Chuck Saunders (Kristy) and family of Coldwater, and Mark Saunders (Stephanie) and family of Madison. He is also survived by his favorite aunt, Beulah Abel of Duck Hill.
Visitation will be Monday, October 22, 2018 at 1:00 PM at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada, MS with a service immediately following the visitation at 2:00 PM in the chapel officiated by Brother Tim Buchanan of the First Baptist Church of Duck Hill, MS.
