Mr. Raymond Gale Moorman, 74, of Grenada, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the Martha Jo Leslie State Veterans Home in Kosciusko. He was born May 13, 1950, in Quitman County to Elmer Fletcher Moorman Sr. and Allie Mae (Huddleston) Moorman. Raymond was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War and was awarded several service medals, including a Purple Heart. He spent most of his life in Grenada County and held various jobs during his career. Raymond was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed art, music, and photography.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2024, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Home in Grenada, with Rev. Fletcher Moorman conducting the service.  Interment with military honors will follow in Smith Cemetery in Cascilla. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service on Saturday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include two sisters, Jean Williamson and Mary Moorman; brothers, W.T. Moorman, Mac Moorman, Paul Moorman, and Stewart Moorman, all of Grenada, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters; Myrtle Wilcox, Ocean Hand, Mildred Martin, Bonnie Pyburn; his brothers, Clifton Moorman, J.T. Moorman, Arnold Moorman Sr., Dewey Moorman, John Moorman, and Joe Moorman.

Pallbearers are his nephews; Ricky Williamson, Stanley Williamson, Eddie Moorman, Jason Moorman, Mark Moorman, and Ronnie Hand.
