Miss Charlene Renee Costilow, 64, of Greenwood, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2026, in Greenwood. She was born December 24, 1961, in Texas to Leroy Glen Costilow and Billie Wayne Cooper Costilow.

Renee found joy in her church, her friends, and the many activities she enjoyed throughout the community. She attended St. John’s Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Rainbow Choir and Sunday school and enjoyed taking part in church activities. She also enjoyed attending Night to Shine Prom at North Greenwood Baptist Church and participating in Special Blessings and Special Seniors at Locus Benedictus.

Local festivals and plays at Greenwood Little Theater were among Renee’s favorite outings. Renee also always looked forward to participating in the Special Olympics each year and did so as long as she was able. She also treasured the simple pleasures of time spent with friends. A long-time resident of Beacon Harbor in Greenwood, she had her favorite spot on the living room couch, where she enjoyed the company of her friends, and you could count on a puzzle book being close at hand.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 9, 2026 at the Grenada Memorial Garden with Rev. Chuck Provine and Rev. Ben Butler officiating.

Survivors include two sisters, Wanda Sparks(Richard) of Grenada and Ginger Toombs(Warren) of Tillatoba; niece, Anna Grace Toombs; nephew, Seth Sparks; aunt, Jeraline Minga Smith; and a host of cousins and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Dallas Brown, Josh Mills, Richard Sparks, Seth Sparks, Warren Toombs, Brandon Vance and Freddie Vance.
