Mr. Richard Tyler Ayers, 78, of Gore Springs, passed away Friday, November 25, 2016. He was born October 12, 1938 in Coffeeville to James Oscar and Robbie Dees Ayers. He was a retired salesman at Kirk Ford and enjoyed being a Camp Host at Hugh White State Park after his retirement. He was a Baptist, National Guard veteran and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Rev. Bernette Fielder and Rev. Bennie Vance officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Monday evening and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary Scarbrough Ayers; one son, Greg Ayers and his wife, Jennifer of Milan, TN; two grandchildren, Nicole and Tyler Ayers, both of Milan, TN; one sister, Mary Kimzey and her husband, Larry of Water Valley; two brothers, Mike Ayers and Dwight Ayers and his wife, Deborah Jo, all of Coffeeville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Joan Byars; and five brothers, James Oscar Ayers, Jr., John Robert Ayers, George Ayers, Gary Ayers and Ralph Ayers.
Pallbearers will be Chester Ayers, John Ayers, Justin Ayers, Steven Ayers, George Collins and Eric Hanks.
