Mr. Richard Gray Lott, Sr., 82, of Grenada, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood. He was born November 9, 1937 in Grenada County to Richard Grady and Eva Bell Gray Lott. Mr. Lott retired as a Project Supervisor with the Mississippi Department of Transportation after working there for 30 years. He honorably served our country in the US Air Force and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. An avid outdoorsman, he found much joy in crappie fishing, squirrel hunting and cutting grass. Mr. Lott was a voracious reader and always enjoyed learning and reading about our history. While he enjoyed many hobbies, he enjoyed spending time with his wife and family more than anything.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 9, 2020 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. Sherman Barnette officiating. Interment will follow in the Grenada Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday evening and one hour prior to the service Thursday all at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mae Harper Lott; two daughters, Rhonda Bailey of Grenada and Brenda Shipp(Felix) of Grenada; one son, Richard Gray Lott, Jr.(Patty) of Grenada; five grandchildren, Angela Deveney(Mac), Stephanie Bailey, Haley Little(Marlin), Austin Lott and Alyssa Humphreys; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Devin Shipp.
