Mr. Riley Barbar Overbey, Jr., 61, of Grenada, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016 at The Regional Medical Center in Memphis, TN. He was born February 4, 1955 in Vicksburg to Riley Barbar Overbey, Sr. and Hazel Lucille Chaney Overbey. He was employed by Hankins Lumber Company, a US Army Veteran and a Baptist. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and always enjoyed playing billiards.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Survivors include three daughters, Melissa Smith (Ben) of Horn Lake, Heather Boone (Brian) of Leesville, LA and Brittany Ware (David) of Oakdale, LA; one son, Riley Barbar Overbey, III of Amory; his father, Riley Barbar Overbey, Sr. of Grenada; two sisters, Mary Heffner (Ricky) of Ferriday, LA and Betty Strickland (Jimmie) of Grenada; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Dennis Overbey.
